The Spiritual Formation and Discipleship track engages seekers who desire to deepen their journey of personal transformation for the sake of spiritual renewal in their communities. Students will explore diverse approaches to formation and how they can be contextualized in various settings.

Dr. Michael Christensen

Author and Educator

Michael Christensen is an author and educator, with expertise in psychology and religion, spiritual formation, and social transformation. His professional background includes leadership in urban ministry, international relief and development, pastoral ministry, and theological education. His recent publications include four books co-authored with Rebecca Laird on the writings of Henri Nouwen.

Associate Professor of Theology at Point Loma Nazarene University

Rebecca Laird teaches in the areas of Christian formation and pastoral ministry. Her ministry leadership in urban churches, international development and spiritual retreats informs her teaching and writing, including four co-written books with Michael Christensen on the writings of Henri Nouwen.
